2016 Leica Wedding Photography: Sarah & Ed
Wedding Venue: Tythe Barn, Charbridge Lane, Launton, Bicester, OX26 4SR
Sarah kindly invited me to join her and Ed on their wedding day at Tythe Barn, Bicester UK. Sarah wanted all digital wedding photograhy so I didn’t take my analogue film cameras. Thanks for a lovely day Sarah and Ed and here are a sample of their wedding photos I captured.
*For any viewers that also appreciate cameras and the geeky stuff, I shot the majority of the day on my usual Leica M240 rangefinder camera (hence the title)(with a few different lenses including the Leica Noctilux 50mm f1.0). I also had chance to use my recently purchased digital Hasselblad H3D-31 + 80mm f2.8 kit lens. Both cameras have their strengths!

2015 Film Wedding Photography: Dan & Amelia
Wedding Venue: Mamble Church & Rock Village Hall, Worcestershire
Dan & Amelia’s Wedding
Back in April 2015 I was invited to photograph Dan and Amelia’s wedding at Mamble Church, Worcester. The digital Leica M9 was my main camera for the day but I was also asked to do some film photography. I love nothing more than a film wedding so took a selection of film cameras along on the day! Below are some of the film wedding photos from the day, as scanned.
Film Wedding Photography
For 2016 I hope to move closer to shooting only film wedding photography (without digital). For model photography and portraiture I only now use the film camera photos but I have a Leica M 240 for test images. Film photos are soft focus and I enjoy the natural colours and way film captures light. All wedding photos here are taken using 35mm and 120 Kodak Portra 400 film.
- 1950s 35mm Leica M3 + Leica Summicron 50mm f2 DR lens
- Medium format Mamiya 645 Super + Mamiya Sekor 80mm f1.9 lens
